UPDATED! The truth is out…
How fun is this week: Two Truths and a Lie! Here’s how it works…I’ll post three “facts” below, two are true and one is a lie. Bonus: If you correctly guess the lie and you could win your pick of an item from my TpT store!
1. I once won a dance competition doing “The Twist” and my prize was a Donny “New Kids on the Block” Barbie doll.
2. I have been teaching for 12 years – all first grade at the same building. I just love those firsties and how much they love learning! Here’s the lie!! I have taught 10 years in kindergarten and first grade…I started my career in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where I taught 3 years of kindergarten at one school, then moved to a new school and taught a year of K before looping my class to first. We moved back to Ohio and I was hired as a first grade teacher. After my first year, I was given the opportunity to be a Reading Recovery teacher (in my same building)…so for the past 4 years I have taught both Reading Recovery and a first grade classroom. I do love first graders and how much they love learning! 🙂
3. In high school and college I played bass drum in the marching band and bassoon in the concert band. That’s where I met my husband and one of my very best college friends. I actually wanted to be a music teacher…but I am HORRIBLE at the listening/dictation part of music theory!
Do you know which one is the lie? Leave your guess in the comments (with your email) and I’ll be back on Friday to tell you the truth! 🙂
