Tell All Tuesday: My Teacher Bucket List

tell all tuesday

It’s Tell All Tuesday and I’m linking up with the lovely My Day in K and Teach.Talk.Inspire to share my Teacher Bucket List!

Summer is the perfect time to sit back, relax, and enjoy some time to reflect on the previous school year.  It also gives teachers time to daydream and think to the future.  In honor of summer and the time time off we’re giving ourselves from our teacher reality we want to know your dreams for your teaching career.  For this Tell All Tuesday we’d love for you to share your “Teacher Bucket List.”  What hopes and dreams do you have for your teaching career?  Do you want to go back to school to become a reading specialist?  One day become principal of your school?  Or something else in the realm of teaching?  Dream big and don’t hold back!  Share your Teacher Bucket List with us today!

Bucket List

This summer: I am getting 10 iPads and 7 Chromebooks to use in my classroom.  I need an actual plan for how I will use them productively!  I’ve had some technology in my room – primarily iPads and iPod touches – and my kids just play reading games on them during centers.  It’s fine, but it’s not the best use of the devices.  I’ve already changed my iPods over to listening centers…but I’m still working on my plan for iPads.  I’d love your suggestions!

This year: I’m working on a Donors Choose proposal to visit the Ron Clark Academy!  It looks completely amazing and everyone I know who has been to RCA has said it was a life changing experience.

Eventually: I’d love to be a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader and train new Reading Recovery teachers.  The best part of Reading Recovery (in my opinion) is that everyone involved all the way up to the university trainers who run the international program teach students every day!  When they present at a conference, they show videos of themselves teaching their own students so no one gets to the point where they lose touch with what we do everyday!  Teacher Leader jobs are not plentiful (a few per state), my other long term goal is to be a Literacy Coach.  I’d love to help teachers improve their practice and support learners!

Link up below and tell us what’s on your bucket list!

Thanks for stopping by! I am very lucky to work in a district that supports getting technology into the hands of our kiddos! And the kids love using them, too!

I would love some Chrome books!! Our school has Gone Google and I’m starting a Google Classroom this fall. Still learning about it, but I am the Google Admin for my school and I have to set it all up. I have iPads that I use for RTI and listening centers. I’ve also used them during reading and math small groups for various things. They are so versatile and the kids find new uses all the time! Practically every post I’ve read mentions the RCA. I will hop on board this train and do Donors Choose as well!! It does look fun and informative!

    Great read and great goals!!

I love using technology with my kiddos, but have a lot to learn about how to do it more effectively!
