Winner Wednesday: Super Fun Center Mega Game Pack

Winner Wednesday Header

We are in August already!  I go back to school on Monday so we are in full on crazy teacher mode here!

I’m excited to link up with Jennifer from A Dab of Glue Will Do for Winner Wednesday this month!  This month you can win my Super Fun Centers Mega Game Pack!

Winner Wednesday - August

These are my kiddos three favorite center games and the Mega Pack includes the alphabet and Dolch Word edition of each game.  The games are perfect for centers because you can teach the game once and use it all year in centers by just changing the letters or words!

First up: Toss Across Cupcakes

You will need two muffin tins (I use the 6 cup size), a large pom pom or small ball and the word or letter cards.

Super Fun Sight Word Game Toss Across

Toss Across Alphabet Edition Set Up

Arrange one letter or word cupcake in each muffin cup.  The players sit about two feet apart with a muffin tin in front of them.

Toss Across Sightword Game

Player 1 tosses the pom pom into their partner’s muffin tin, then reads the word in that space.  If she can read the word, she keeps the card.  If not, the partner says the word and places it back in her muffin tin.

Another classroom favorite is Who Stole the Cookies.

Miss Kindergarten has an awesome alphabet version of this in her Back to School Centers and I have created a sight word version that I use in my classroom.

Cookie Sight Word Game These little pocket charts from the Target Dollar Spot are perfect to hold just a few words!

Super Fun Centers Cookie Game

One player is the “Cookie Hider” and places the cookie behind a word.  Then the rest of the group reads the words to guess where the cookie is hidden.  As each word is read, the Cookie Hider takes that word out to look for the cookie, then replaces the word face down.  Play continues until someone finds the cookie and they become the Cookie Hider for the next round.

Saving the best for last: Super Hero SMASH!

I can’t even tell you how much my class loves this game!  Bonus: it’s basically print, laminate and go!

I love using the little Itty Bittys from Hallmark because they are soft and quiet when the kids SMASH them on the table, but the game also includes super hero cut outs you can put in binder clips so they stand up.  To start, fold the letter or word cards into tents and arrange them on the table or floor.

Super Hero Smash Sightword Game

The game really couldn’t be more simple:

On your turn, you read a word.  If you read it correctly, use the super hero to SMASH the word flat and take the card.  Play continues until all the words have been read.

Good luck!
