2gether We are Better: Classroom Reveal

wednesday classroom

Check out my beautiful new blog design!!  Alexis from Laugh Eat Learn is completely amazing and I am so in love with my new look!

Today I’m linking up for 2gether We Are Better with Ashley from Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd and Angie from Lucky Little Learners  and Teacher Week on Blog Hoppin’ for my classroom reveal!

I’ll admit that my pictures look a little bare…I try to leave as much open space in the classroom as possible at the beginning of the year since it gets filled up with anchor charts and student work so quickly!

Here’s the big picture…

This is our carpet space, which is already filling up with anchor charts and student reference materials!  I’m trying something new with my literacy centers and just posting pictures of the choices students can make, rather than using a traditional center board.

I’m focusing on setting goals with my students and our first step is writing a weekly class goal that we post in our whole group area and refer to throughout each day.  The “how” part is helpful to having students check in on themselves to see if they are making progress toward our goal.

We have added so much technology to our classroom this year!  YAY!  While this isn’t beautiful, it is practical for storing iPads, iPods (in the yellow basket) and all the students’ headphones so they can quickly access technology during center time.

I gave my classroom library a huge overhaul this summer and love how organized it looks on the back wall of our classroom!

I started using brag tags this year (thanks to Angie!) and my kiddos love them!  I love the way this board turned out with a little paint (instead of paper) and the fabulous Painted Palette boarder and pennants!

And this just makes me happy…

I can’t wait to see everyone’s classrooms!
